The Beluga is a type of sturgeon found mainly in Eurasia, especially in the Caspian and Black seas. It is best known for its caviar, which is considered to be one of the most expensive foods in the world. As a result, the species suffers from poaching and overfishing. Despite government restrictions, there is a thriving black market for the roe.
