'''The Left''' (German: Die Linke) is a far-left German political party. It was founded by a merger of the parties "Labour and Social Justice – The Electoral Alternative", a party of former [[SPD]]-members and the "Party of Democratic Socialism", which is the subsequent party of the "[[Socialist Unity Party of Germany]]". It has created the organization "Cuba Sí", which supports the dictatorial regime of [[Cuba]]. The Left wants to enacted a law, which does abortion fully legalize[[abortion]] and [[same-sex marriage|same-sex "marriage"]] with adoption. Further demanded the legalization of it demands to legalize drugs and it wants to cancel withdraw from the [[NATO]] and abolish the German armed forcesmilitary (Bundeswehr).
The Left is the fourth strongest party of Germany. Its current leaders are Katja Kipping and Bernd Riexinger.
