Snakes On A Plane is an American film released in August 2006 directed by David Ellis and starring Samuel L. Jackson. It gained much notoriety as a result of its simple title, spawning a large Internet following. In response, the filmmakers incorporated feedback from fans into their production.
Plot Summary
After witnessing the murder of an L.A. district attorney by gangster Eddie Kim, Sean Jones is escorted by FBI Agent Neville Flynn (played by Jackson) on a flight from Honolulu to Los Angeles in order to testify against Kim. However, Kim has arranged for snakes to be placed on the plane in time-release crates and let out halfway through the flight, where they react to pheromones that have been sprayed on the leis given to each passenger and begin attacking everyone on the flight. Flynn, Jones, and the other passengers must somehow survive the snakes on the plane in order to reach Los Angeles and put Kim behind bars for good.
Critical acclaim
The film has received mediocre reviews, with 69% "Fresh" reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.[1]
Trivia
- New Line sponsored a contest allowing fans to contribute songs to the movie's soundtrack. The winner was the song "Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)" by Cobra Starship.
