I cannot find anywhere a reference to a "Joseph Belloc" that does not redirect immediately to "Hilaire" or, if off-line, state within ten words that the man is known as "Hilaire Belloc".
- My books here all have "Hilaire" on their spines or, if anthologies, have him under "Hilaire Belloc" in their indexes.
- The Cds and LPs that contain songs written to his magnificently irrelevant verses list these songs under "Hilaire Belloc".
I am writing from the perspective of one who was introduced to him 60 years ago this year.
- Please give his preferred name the primacy it deserves.
