The Landlord's Game is a game that was developed in 1904 by Lizzie Magie. A board game, it was designed to promote the ideas of Henry George.[1]
The Landlord's Game is the direct predecessor for the more well known game of Monopoly.[1]
Background
Lizzie Magie lived[2] in a Single Tax Colony in Arden, Delaware, which is where she developed the game. It was popular with the residents of Arden after its inception.[3]
Anti Capitalism
The game is designed to teach the ideas of Georgism and the book Progress and Poverty.[4][5][6][7][8]
