The following is recommended for the laying out and presentation of an article dealing with a motion picture or television series.

Infobox

Include with the infobox (example at right) pertinent information, i.e. producer, director, release date, box office gross, etc. The release date must be the first year it was released to theaters; any theatrical re-release can be included (Star Wars release dates were 1977, 1978, and 1997, for example). The image within the infobox must be the original release movie poster; if none is available for posting here then box-art for the DVD is acceptable.

If the subject is a television series, then the image should be the title card.

Introductory paragraph

A short (1-2) paragraph statement introducing the film, stars, director, and what it's about.

Plot synopsis

Detail what the film is about. Some editors may get involved with detailing the story itself, in which case add a "spoiler warning" at the beginning; however, try to avoid doing that. We would rather have the reader get interested in seeing a film for the first time without giving it away.

Cast

List the major cast members and the parts they played.

History of the film

You can go into detail about how the film was made, including money spent, location shoots, trivia; anything that makes the film interesting.
