Cheryl Sullenger is an American pro-life activist. She began her work in 1984 as a volunteer for a crisis pregnancy center in San Diego County, California, but soon began offering help to abortion-bound women outside local abortion clinics where she is reported to have helped over 2,500 women change their minds about having abortions. In 1988 she was arrested for and confessed to a conspiracy to bomb the Alvarado Medical Center abortion clinic. She was sentenced to two and a half years and was released after serving two of those years. Having since renounced violence, she now works as a Senior Policy Advisor for Operation Rescue. She served one term after her conviction as an elected member of the Central Committee of the 75th District of the San Diego Republican Party. She is an accomplished writer and editorialist.
