Dennis Day (May 21, 1916 – June 22, 1988) was a comedian and television personality who was the host of The Dennis Day Show, which aired from 1953–54 on NBC.
A member of the Republican Party, he was supportive of the presidential campaigns of Moderate Republican Dwight Eisenhower in 1952 and conservative Barry Goldwater in 1964.[1]
Early life and education
Born Owen Patrick Eugene "Gene" McNulty in 1916 to Irish immigrants Mary and Patrick McNulty, he was the second of five children and grew up in The Bronx. After graduating from the Cathedral Preparatory Seminary, Day attended Manhattan College.
