Hotel California is a rock song by The Eagles, the title track from the album of the same name.

It is known for its introductory guitar solo and the extended one at the end, which immediately follows the most famous line in the song: "you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave". As such, "Hotel California" is commonly used to describe what appears to be an inescapable situation.

The lyrics have been interpreted in numerous ways, often to claim that the group was supporting devil worship; however the band claims that the song discusses the entertainment lifestyle.
