At its time the show was quite popular and was a show on Disney Channel when it was more conservative, the show was quite politically incorrect. Although it did have some Christian Catholic jokes, they were minor, and the show did so often than not, portray in Christianity in a positive light, as well promote some Christain values such as family, friendship, loyalty and respect. In fact, the Christmas episode is a tribute to the birth of Jesus. [1]

Some of the Political Incorrect Moments

  • Cody enters a beauty constant and cross-dresses as a girl, this is portrayed as a joke, later when he wants to throw the competition so his crush can win, Zack takes over and enters, when the Mom asks "Zack, why are you wearing a skirt?" He replies "I did it so we could win money for bikes." Only to have her say "Oh, thank goodness."
  • Maddie and Carrie are on the elevator when it opens and Carrie tells the man waiting "I'm sorry. Could you please take the next elevator?" The man does not speak English and gets on the elevator smiling.
  • London tells Maddie that when her father hired nannies "I learned how to say, "let me stay up late, or I'm calling immigration" in 18 different languages."
  • Zack pretends to be dyslexia, to explain his bad grades, and his standards lower.
  • The Christmas episode features a scene where a couple named Mary and Joseph have a baby on Christmas Eve, the characters reference this to the birth of Jesus.
  • When Maddie escapes detention and she tells a girl "I think I'm going to a much worse place" (implying hell), the girl responds "I'll pray for you."
  • Zack has a dream about the characters being Colonists fighting against King George the III.
  • When the characters go to Hollywood to have a show cast about them, the producers wanted romance between London's character and Maddie's character, so they cast London's character as male instead of making her gay.
