Not a matter of personal "offense" - please don't change the subject. A g-rated picture is what I'm looking for. I already found one of him playing the harp for King Saul; now it's your turn. --Ed Poor Talk 08:15, 12 March 2008 (EDT)

I would, but I can't upload files. you can find many which are definitely public-domain (they are classics from the greats, the one you uploaded was from Rembrandt). DLerner 08:20, 12 March 2008 (EDT)

Sorry, I forgot that new contributors must 'earn' upload rights. Well, pick out the images you want and provide the URL if you want me to upload them for you. --Ed Poor Talk 08:26, 12 March 2008 (EDT)

Did you at least enjoy the joke? DLerner 08:29, 12 March 2008 (EDT)
Of course: I'm a prude, not a moron. ;-) You got me wondering about how much Rembrandt had to pay the guy to pose for his statue. --Ed Poor Talk 08:31, 12 March 2008 (EDT)
Michelangelo did the statue, Rembrandt did the painting DLerner 08:36, 12 March 2008 (EDT)
Okay, I'm an ignorant prude. Anyway, nice start on Harp. Care to take a stroke or two on Zither? --Ed Poor Talk 08:41, 12 March 2008 (EDT)

You'll not get The Man to reply like that... In any event what you will get, ultimately, is "Night editing rights are a privilege and are not awarded automatically. Let's see a recorsd of substantial contributions first. Godspeed." There now - that's saved a bit of time...

Nothing personal

I was aware of your Jewishness; my "ever hear of" was a rhetorical question meant for our audience. The point is that liberals condone "control the past" when they or their allies do it, while creating a smokescreen by accusing conservatives of their own deception.

This reminds me of Potiphar's wife, who accused Joseph of attempted seduction, while she was actually guilty. (A Jewish scholar criticized Joseph's brother Judah for deception, i.e., using the false token of a robe dipped in blood to put their father Jacob in despair; later on he redeems himself by acknowledging the true tokens of Tamar.)

Amazing, these old Bible stories of life and death hanging on issues of deception vs. truth. Imagine the implications for today's world. --Ed Poor Talk 11:17, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

If you noticed I "defended" conservative Christians in that bit. No, Liberals don't really try to control the past. only the music industry (Al Gore in the 80's) and smoking in bars (a civil liberty and a personal issue for business owners), we leave the past alone.
Regarding individuals who've tried to control the past, Anthony Comstock comes to mind, (confiscating Bernard Shaw! HOW DARE HE!)
BTW I was fully aware it was rhetorical. On that note: It wasn't Muslims who began holocaust denial, the names David Duke comes to mind, a right-winger. Cheers ד.לערנער 11:28, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

Eureka

It took me forever, but I finally figured out where the floating "18" in your signature is coming from! Is that a real date format, or did you mess up? (No criticisms here; I'm just curious). HelpJazz 23:23, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

I have no idea how it got there. No criticism taken. ד.לערנער 23:25, 18 March 2008 (EDT)
Ah then. I thought it was some cool nomenclature or something. You were probably playing around with your preferences... I'm not really sure why it would do that. HelpJazz 23:37, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

Addiction

I think it would be better to keep it together on the junkie page, spreading information all over the place instead of keeping it punchy and concise isn't always best. Its almost a motto - I am against a split.knish is always against splitting useful stuff. RickKnish 10:24, 19 March 2008 (EDT)

I didn't write the article to discuss the "hobbies" of junkies, it was about the slang term. (like the difference between Gentile (didn't write it) and Goy (wrote it). The user formerly known as DLerner 10:27, 19 March 2008 (EDT)

Name Change?

From your signatures, I infer that you might like to change your user id. I can do that for you, provided you have not yet established a new account with the new id. The process consists of my creating the new id and transferring your edits to it.--Aschlafly 10:36, 19 March 2008 (EDT)

Thanks for the offer, I just like fooling around with my signature. my last one was my name in Hebrew, but I think the right-to-left was confusing the time/date stamp, so I changed it. DLerner is my name, so I'll keep it as my username to, the signature will change every now and then depending on my mood. The user formerly known as DLerner 10:42, 19 March 2008 (EDT)

I don't want you to leave. I would point out that it seems you weren't banned for any comments elsewhere, but that the issue seems to deal with the issue of editing rights. DanH 23:55, 22 March 2008 (EDT)

Thanks

I'm not really used to writing for an audience, so thanks for correcting my work. I'm a history fanatic though never went to college, so I'm not exactly used to writing correctly as an encyclopedia might demand. Thanks again. LeaningRight 09:21, 24 March 2008 (EDT)

Why did you removed a citation from the Rashi and the Purim article?--Deborah 21:09, 25 March 2008 (EDT)

I think that quoted from Jewish authorities is better, besides, with regards to Rashi, it didn't even have his real name (Rashi is an acronym), Purim is not celebrated universally over two days, so I figured to ditch them and go with Jewish sources. (To be honest, I'm a Hassidic Jew so I probably know a bit more about Jewish holidays then most on this site, no offense). -- D L e r n e r יחי המלך 21:13, 25 March 2008 (EDT)

Warning

Your disrespectful edits and derogatory claims, like referring to this site as a blog or claiming that logic is not followed here, are unacceptable. The 1 hour block of your account is a warning; longer blocks by other Sysops or myself will occur if more counterproductive or derogatory edits are found.--Aschlafly 22:41, 25 March 2008 (EDT)

Sharon Tate

Thanks for your message, though heaven only knows why you assume that I am the guardian of that particular page. I had thought rather that if anyone's, it was Mr Schlafly's. I dispute your conclusions, which seem wilfully literal in a way all too sadly common among liberals, self-declared or otherwise. Plenty of victims of Hollywood Values are included in that list, as well as victim-perpetrators; why not try and find some more, then create a separate section, 'Victims of HV'? Bugler 15:17, 19 May 2008 (EDT)

Encyclopedic

Do you have a degree in encyclopedia sciences? Karajou 00:56, 21 May 2008 (EDT)

No, but we shouldn't be judging what is the best adaptation of of a book with remarks like "The definitive edition is the 5-hour 1995 miniseries starring Colin Firth. The star is really Jennifer Ehle, who shines (or glows) as Elizabeth.. Forgive me if I'm wrong in assuming that such a broad statement isn't encyclopedic. ---user:DLerner--- 00:59, 21 May 2008 (EDT)

That's right, you do not have such a degree, and therefore you do not decide what is or is not "encyclopedic" on this site. Karajou 01:05, 21 May 2008 (EDT)
Right, that's Ed Poor's job... ---user:DLerner--- 01:07, 21 May 2008 (EDT)

Every editor who contributes here is expected to decide if something is encyclopedic or not, by virtue of deciding whether or not it is appropriate to include. If there is disagreement, us administrators get the final say, but unless it gets to that, every editor has the right—nay responsibility—to decide that for themselves. Philip J. Rayment 05:02, 21 May 2008 (EDT)

Does anyone have a degree in encyclopedia sciences? Lobachevsky 07:41, 21 May 2008 (EDT)
No one has such a degree; it doesn't exist. And, unless the info is false, a parody, or the content isn't family-friendly, no one here decides what is or what is not encyclopedic. Karajou 13:44, 21 May 2008 (EDT)
As I said above, everybody rightly does and is expected to decide this simply by virtue of deciding whether or not their contributions are appropriate to include. Simply repeating your viewpoint is not an argument. Philip J. Rayment 17:12, 21 May 2008 (EDT)

I've just noticed that you have a signature template. Conservapedia does not allow signature templates, at least if they are transcluded (substitution would be okay). Please fix things so that this page becomes empty. Philip J. Rayment 23:05, 25 August 2008 (EDT)

About other users

Kindly confine your remarks to ways we can work together to achieve project goals. If you continue to waste my time, questioning my blocks and professing confusion over dates, I may lose my patience. You have been a valuable contributor, but I need you to focus on writing trustworthy articles. Let me and and the sysops deal with disruptive persons. --Ed Poor Talk 11:34, 30 August 2008 (EDT)

So when I see something odd, I should say (to paraphrase Boxer from Orwell's fine novel Animal Farm) "Comrade Sysop is always right". No, I don't lie down when I see things that are odd, I certainly won't lie down when I see abuse (as I pointed out recently on Conservapedia:Desk. If you may lose your patience, then I suggest you vacate your Sysop powers until you can regain it. DLerner 11:42, 30 August 2008 (EDT)
