Rod R. Blagojevich, a Democrat, is the current and 40th governor of the state of Illinois. He was born on December 10, 1956, in Chicago. Before being elected as governor, Blagojevich served as Cook County Assistant State's Attorney and then Representative for Illinois' 5th District in the U.S. House of Representatives (elected in 1996)[1].
On December 9th, 2008, Mr. Blagojevich was arrested on corruption charges for attempting to sell the recently vacated U. S. Senate seat of Barack Obama. [2] Liberal media outlets were disproportionately quick in pointing out that President-elect Obama had no involvement in the scandal, despite clear evidence being available to the contrary [3] including photos of the two together while the governor was trying to sell Obama's seat [4].
This also brings out the question of the Chicago "Meat Grinder" politics, as this could influence Barack Obama to the core.
The connection between Blagojevich and Rahm Emanuel is even more condemning. Emanuel has not commented on any connections with Blagojevich[5]. There are two separate conversations of Emanuel talking with Blagojevich. These point Emanuel- and, by extension, Obama- having a part in Blagojevich's criminal actions.
On January 9th, 2009, Gov. Blagojevich was impeached by Illinois House of Delegates. The State Senate is expected to convict him of his crimes later this month, a fact that the liberal media has attempted to obscure.
