Stuttgart is the capital of the Land (Federal State) of Baden-Wuerttemberg in south-western Germany. It has a population of 590,000 and is a centre of the motor industry, being the home of Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.
It is currently being governed by a mayor of the green party, Fritz Kuhn.
