Battle of Pteria

The Battle of Pteria was fought between the armies of Lydia and the armies of Persia in 547 or 546 B.C. Cyrus the Great led the Persian army fighting a savage but indecisive winter battle. Croesus, who led the Lydian forces, withdrew across the Halys. This was a prelude to the Battle of Thymbra
