The Great Commandment refers to quotes from Jesus Christ found in the synoptic Gospels: Matthew 22:34-40, Mark 12:28-34, Luke 10:25-28. Its second component refers to Old Testament Leviticus 19:18, which was twice stated by Saint Paul in Romans 13:9 and Galatians 5:14.
