Kyu Sakamoto was a Japanese singer, who sang the most beautiful pop song of all-time; "Ue o muite arukō", better known in the English-speaking parts of the world as "Sukiyaki". It was the first and only song sung only in Japanese to reach the number one spot on the Billboard 100 chart in the United States.
