Google+ is a social networking website that directly competes for Facebook's share of the market. This is at least Google's third attempt at creating a pure social networking community; Google Wave, Google Buzz preceding. Orkut and YouTube are Google's social networking websites through acquisition. Google+ emerged from limited "field trial" release to the general public Beta on September 20, 2011. Prior to the public launch of Google+, an estimated 25 million people became members. One week after launch, Google+ surpassed 50 million members and is adding 2 million per day.[1]
In an attempt to one-up the launch of Google+, Facebook adding numerous changes to its layout and functionality. A mountain of Facebook-user complaints can be traced back to the entry of Google+ into the marketplace.
