Jethro (Hebrew: יִתְרוֹ) (one time called "Reuel") is a priest of Midian and the father-in-law of Moses after Moses married Jethro's daughter Zipporah (Exodus 2:21). Jethro is credited with helping to establish the Israelite system of laws by convincing Moses to appoint judges under him to deal with minor cases.
