General Park Chung-hee (Korean: 박정희, November 13, 1917 - October 26, 1979) was a South Korean politician, soldier and President of South Korea from 1963 - 1979. His nickname was Joongsu (중수), and his Japanese name was Takagi Masao.
Park was assassinated by Kim Jae-kyu, the head of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency on October 26, 1979.
His daughter Park Geun-hye was a president of South Korea.
