Aberdeenshire

Aberdeenshire is a county in north-eastern Scotland. The city of Aberdeen is the county town and the county's largest settlement. Aberdeenshire stretches from the Grampian Mountains, which form part of the Scottish Highlands, in the south-west to the lower-lying lands on the North Sea coast in the north-east. Aberdeenshire borders Kincardineshire and Angus to the south, Perthshire and Inverness-shire to the south-west and Banffshire to the west.

Administration

Aberdeenshire lends its name to Aberdeenshire Council, although this excludes the city of Aberdeen, which is covered by Aberdeen City Council, and covers the county Kincardineshire.
