Abortion ballot initiatives in the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade include the following:[1]

  • Ohio Issue 1, on August 8, 2023, in which the pro-abortion side won based on massive spending and early voting, by 57-43%
  • Michigan, Vermont and California approved abortion rights ballot initiatives
  • Kansas, Kentucky and Montana defeated pro-life ballot initiatives

In Kansas, 59% voted against a ballot initiative to clarify that there is no right to abortion in its state constitution. In Michigan, 56% voted to add a pro-abortion clause to its state constitution. The Michigan vote was funded by many tens of millions of dollars by pro-abortion interests, and swept Dems into control of the state legislature on its coattails.

Upcoming

In addition to a planned pro-abortion ballot in Ohio in November 2023 or 2024, "abortion rights activists in Arizona, Florida and Missouri are working to get similar measures before voters next year — races anti-abortion groups are warning they will lose without more resources."[2]
