The American Health Care Act of 2017 (ACHA) (H.R. 1628) is a bill currently in Congress designed to replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. (Obamacare) Some conservatives have criticized the bill, calling it "Obamacare-lite." The first version of the bill failed to get a vote on the floor of the House of Representatives, while a revision passed 217-213 in the House. The Senate intends to write its own version of the bill, which if passed in the Senate would require reconciliation with the House.
