(Redirected from Angevan)
Angevin is the alternative term for the Plantagenet dynasty that ruled England from 1154 to 1485. It derives from Angers, the capital of the county of Anjou, the family's ancestral home.
Angevin Empire
The term Angevin Empire has been used retrospectively to describe areas that were under the control of the Plantagenet dynasty in the 12th and 13th centuries. At its peak, this consisted of all of England, south east Wales, western France and eastern Ireland, claiming some overlordship of Scotland and the remainder of Ireland and Wales.
