In Bergen Commercial Bank v. Sisler, the New Jersey Supreme Court held that a 25-year-old has a valid claim for age discrimination based on his lost opportunity due to his relatively young age. Specifically, the court held that a plaintiff, "twenty-five years old at the time of his discharge, can invoke the anti-age-discrimination provisions of the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (LAD), N.J.S.A. 10:5-1 to -42, as a basis for his claim that he was wrongfully terminated because of his employer's perception that he was too young for the job." 157 N.J. 188, 196, 723 A.2d 944, 947 (1999).
