The scientific establishment is all the mainstream scientific institutions (including universities), and scientific journals.

The scientific establishment has been accused of censoring the promotion of views that are inconsistent with the ruling paradigm, particularly in the suppression of alternatives to evolution. The documentary film Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed documented cases of this suppression, referring to the scientific establishment as "big science".
