Civil War (2024 film)

Civil War is a dystopian fiction film released in 2024. The film centers around a group of photojournalists traveling the United States after it has descended into civil war following the President's refusal to leave office after his constitutionally required two terms in office.

The civil war portrayed is between four groups of states, one supporting the current government and three fighting to take power:

  • The "loyalist states", consisting of New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwestern states, with the additions of Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado, and the Desert Southwest states, and (surprisingly) South Carolina (where the original Civil War began), which support the current government,
  • The "New People's Army" (a mix of upper Midwest and Rocky Mountain states with Washington and Oregon as well),
  • The "Florida Alliance" (a remake of most of the old Confederacy, less South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Texas, but with Oklahoma added), and
  • The "Western States" (the very odd pairing of political opposites Texas and California), who ultimately win the war.
