For the record, the end numbers of this election vary from what has been posted on this image, as anyone can see on these websites: [1][2][3][4][5]. If incorrect, let me know. Karajou 02:47, 19 November 2008 (EST)
- Corrected an embarrasing gaffe! Karajou 14:33, 19 November 2008 (EST)
- The state abbreviations for Nebraska and Iowa are always incorrect, they should be NE and IA. Great map otherwise. StephenK 17:21, 19 November 2008 (EST)
- Thanks. Got those discrepancies, as well as today's Missouri update, fixed. Karajou 17:28, 19 November 2008 (EST)
- Looks great!! I know it's hard on an image map like this, But is there anyway to indicate that Obama took one of Nebraska's electoral votes? StephenK 17:31, 19 November 2008 (EST)
- I heard of Nebraska splitting the votes; does that mean Nebraska has a total of 6 electoral votes, with one going to Obama? If so, I can add something to that effect on the image. Karajou 17:35, 19 November 2008 (EST)
- I looked at the CNN source above, and Nebraska does have 5 total votes. Karajou 17:37, 19 November 2008 (EST)
- Nebraska has five votes total, one per congressional district. Unlike most states, Nebraska isn't all or none, they split their votes by district. Obama won one district in Nebraska (The Omaha area, which is more liberal the rest of the state) to claim on of NE's votes. Here's a map that kinda explains it [6]. Obama was just recently declared the winner of the last district (I first read it earlier this week). He's the first candidate to ever split the votes. StephenK 17:42, 19 November 2008 (EST)
