Head coverings, as per the Apostle Paul's first letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 11: 1-15), are to be worn by women when praying.[1]

In the Western World, up until the 1960s when feminism became prevalent, women wore head coverings to church. Among Eastern Orthodoxy, Christians in the Middle East and some parts of Asia, women commonly still wear head coverings to church.
