Hounslow London Borough Council is the local authority responsible for the parts of Middlesex that make up the London Borough of Hounslow. The administrative and main retail centre is Hounslow; other districts include Brentford, Chiswick, Feltham, Hanworth, Heston and Isleworth. It is largely suburban, with light industrial areas along the Great West Road and in the west of the borough, which borders London Heathrow Airport. The borough was formed in 1965 by the amalgamation of the Municipal Borough of Brentford and Chiswick, the Municipal Borough of Heston and Isleworth, and Feltham Urban District.
