Bottoms did nothing as Black Lives Matter (BLM) terrorized the city. Black Lives Matter protesters murdered an 8 year old black girl riding in the back seat of her mother's car when BLM shot into the car. Three more Black men were shot by Black Lives Matter protesters at the same spot the next day and one of them was murdered. BLM had upgraded its Rules of Engagement (ROE) to “shoot people in vehicles” after NPR claimed people resisting Socialism would try to run barricades. The killing of the 8 year old girl was the fourth such shooting after innocent victims in Alamosa CO, Provo UT, and CHOP where two Blacks, one of them a child, were also murdered by Black Lives Matter protesters. In total, three Blacks were murdered by Black Lives Matter in 3 weeks with at least three other shot.
Bottoms paraphrased Rep. Ilhan Omar's "some people did something" to refer to the violence, mayhem. and anarchy wrought by the Marxist Black Lives Matter group. With Bottoms failure to stand up to lawlessness, Georgia governor Brian Kemp finally declared a state of emergency and activated the National Guard.
