The M1 Carbine was successful rifle design of the Second World War. It utilized a semi-automatic function much like the M-1 Garand in that the soldier could maintain a decent rate of fire by how fast the trigger was depressed. The M-1 Carbine was lightweight and was usually assigned to paratroopers and tank teams because of the size and folding buttstock. The M-1 Carbine could be armed with a 15 or 30 round ammunition clip.
