Mood swings are sudden and rapid changes in one's mood. This may refer to minor mood changes or major changes with mood disorders like depression or bipolar disorder. Mood swings are also common in women around the time of their menstrual cycle. Mood swings are almost always normal, and may be nothing other than appropriate and natural emotional reactions to events in everyday life.[1]
