Olivia Newton-John (1948 – August 8, 2022) was an English-Australian singer, songwriter and actress. She is best known for starring in the hit film musical Grease with John Travolta. Her soundtrack from that movie was immensely successful, and overall she sold more than 100 million records globally throughout her career.
Newton-John was born in Cambridge, England and emigrated to Melbourne, Australia in 1954.
Her 1981 record Physical was her most successful studio album, going double platinum.
Newton-John was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and again in 2017. She was a cancer awareness activist.
