Oswaldo Payá

Oswaldo Payá (b.February 29, 1952 d.July 22, 2012) was a Cuban oppositional civil rights activist. Payá was a Catholic supporter of the democracy movement and collected signatures for a referendum of the constitution. He was awarded with the Sakharov Prize. On July 22, 2012 he died in a car accident.[1]
