Phoney subpoenas were demand letters or "letters conveying subpoena" used by the Democrat-controlled 116th Congress in an effort to build an obstruction of Congress case and formulate Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump. The U.S. House of Representatives did not vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry, and the demand letters had no legal binding beyond Congressional oversight powers.
