Poland pro-life laws
Poland pro-life laws are the best in all of Europe in protecting the unborn.
Once Communism fell in 1993, the predominantly Catholic Poland enacted a strong pro-life law in 1993 to make abortion illegal with only narrow exceptions such as protection of the life of the mother or a pregnancy caused by a crime. In 2020 the Polish Supreme Court extended the ban on abortion to cases of an abnormality in the unborn child.[1]
"Only 425 legal abortions were carried out in Poland in 2023," after pro-life laws and the Poland Supreme Court decision took full effect.[2]
