Ray Hill is a historian[1] from Tennessee who writes for The Knoxville Focus, a news outlet focused on politics and history in the state. Among his subjects of expertise include Eastern Tennessee Republicans such as Brazilla Carroll Reece of the state's 1st district during the 1900s. Hill has also published information on lesser-known politicians that may be near-impossible to obtain elsewhere, such as information regarding Reece's rival Oscar B. Lovette during the late 1920s and early 1930s.
