Richard Scarry's books

Richard Scarry's books are filled with scenes of ordinary activities, superbly illustrated with a variety of humorous animals (often pigs) as the characters. He illustrated more than 300 books, which have been immensely popular with a total worldwide sales estimated to be in excess of 100 million volumes.
Perhaps his most famous book is his Best Word Book Ever (1963), which contains more than 1,400 charming illustrations. It is estimated that this book sold more than seven million copies in its first 12 years of publication.
Richard Scarry himself was born in Massachusetts in 1919 and died in Switzerland in 1994. He was married with one child.
