Ruth Graham (June 10, 1920 - June 14, 2007), was the wife of evangelist Billy Graham and a strong Christian woman.
Born Ruth McCue Bell in Qingjiang, China to medical missionaries, Graham developed a strong belief in God from a very young age, vowing never to marry.[1]
When Billy Graham met Ruth Bell at Wheaton College, it was love at first sight for him. He had already heard she was one of the prettiest and most spiritual girls on campus. She, for her part, was impressed with his preaching and the way he prayed. She felt he really knew who he was praying to.
On August 13, 1943, Ruth married Billy Graham. After over 60 years of marriage, they were parted only by death. Together they had five children and it was Ruth who was the anchor and raised the children during Billy's long absences. In the words of their friend:"There would have been no Billy Graham as we know him today had it not been for Ruth" -- T.W. Wilson
