Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is the unitary authority responsible for the parts of County Durham and the North Riding of Yorkshire that make up the administrative county Borough of Stockton-on-Tees. It is centred on County Durham town of Stockton-on-Tees, the council area's largest settlement, where the council meets at Stockton Town Hall. It also includes numerous villages and the Yorkshire towns of Ingleby Barwick, Thornaby-on-Tees and Yarm.

The Borough of Stockton-on-Tees is unusual in that it is the only administrative county to fall into more than one county for the purposes of lieutenancy; the parts south of the Tees are in the North Yorkshire county for the purposes of lieutenancy, whereas those to the north are in Durham.
