I would argue that this film is conservative. It embraces family values and the traditional family. The hero, George Bailey, is hardworking and honest. In Bailey Park, the poor are uplifted through the free market. Affordable housing is built by a private company and not by the government. It celebrates Harry as a war hero. Altogether it's a celebration of conservative America (albeit with a warning on the dangers of greed). -Alpine
