The Battle of Sunshine Church was an event during the American Civil War, in which a battle between the Union and Confederate armies was fought, in 1864. The battle, occurring near what is now known as Round Oak, Georgia[1] was initially enacted by the Union Major General, George Stoneman, the leader of Stoneman's Raid. The result of the battle was a Confederate victory, in which General Stoneman and his army surrendered, and were captured and imprisoned by the Confederate Brigadier General, Alfred Iverson Jr.[2]
