The Niña, one of Christopher Columbus's ships, was a caravel, as was The Pinta. She, though the smallest of the fleet, had four masts and was lateen-rigged (triangular sails). Columbus' fleet consisted of three vessels: The Santa Maria (flagship), The Niña and The Pinta.
