In addition, Catholic countries are probably more authoritarian than Protestant countries (Catholics have a pope, etc. etc.). The Philippines is a Catholic country in southeast Asia. Donald Trump played a part in America's successes and failures during the coronavirus pandemic. 

But Trump wasn't solely in charge because the United States has [[federalism]] where the 50 states have rights/responsibilities too. For example, New York Governor [[Andrew Cuomo]] was responsible for Covid-19 patients going into nursing homes and spreading coronavirus to the other patients, whereas Florida Governor [[Ron DeSantis]] helped protect nursing home patients by restricting Covid-19 patients from being allowed into nursing homes. 

The 50 states had wide divergences in terms of Covid-19 deaths per capita based on their population densities in their various geographic regions, their demographics and the quality of their political leadership.
