View source for Debate:If most Christians learned their religion from their parents, just like us Muslims, they will probably be hard to convert. So what can we do to save their souls?

We can do nothing to save souls.  Salvation requires grace.  Grace comes exclusively from God and is defined as unearned favor.  On must remember, however, that God is just.  The God I believe in, for example, would not subject the souls of aborted babies to eternal torture simply because they never dotted the i's and crossed the t's and "accepted Christ".  This same principle of justice would apply to people who lived in America before Columbus, for example, or for the Muslim woman who grew up in Yemen and was installed in a harem at age 14 where she lived in isolation until her death at age 49 never hearing the gospel. Hmmm, yes, maybe we should sent more imams to the west, those poor people have been misled for centuries and many have never even heard of the Prophet, it's not their fault.

The main difference is the concept of love.  In Christianity, love is elevated other things such as faith and good works alone.  Even going as far to say that God is love, as this characteristic sums up His essence.  In Christianity Jesus is the example of leading a selfless life, sacrificing his life for others.  Martyrdom has a somewhat different meaning in some other beliefs! Adam {{unsigned|AdamB}}
Although we believe 'God is on our side', we have respect for other faiths and don't necessarily think outside of the Church there is no salvation. A common view is that those who are ignorant of our religion but who are disposed to obey God and lead an honest upright life may be saved.  You would expect a merciful God, who clearly sees the thoughts and heart of each person, to show mercy to those who are ignorant of Christ through no fault of their own. i.e. a person who has never read the Gospel. The biggest problem I think we face is people here who consciously reject the truth. Adam
