I am trying not to be a pain here, David.
:B.C. should be after the date, A.D. before. As an example, Ovid, who straddled the millennia (among other things) is usually introduced in reference books as having lived "43 BC - c. AD 11" To explain; think of it as an English sentence: "Ovid lived from the year 43 before Christ to about the year of our Lord 11."

::Opps, you're right of course--thanks for catching that. Somewhere in the back of my mind I think I knew that, but I know I've seen it after, which may be why I did that wrong. Anyway, you're not being a pain--thanks for error checking! --[[User:DavidB4|<font color="ForestGreen">David B</font>]] <small>([[User talk:DavidB4|TALK]])</small> 22:49, 12 October 2016 (EDT)

:I have a sneaking suspicion I have misplaced A.D. myself. Usually because I have written the date then decided, because it is only a century or two post Christianity, I had better nail it down, then forgotten to put it in front of the date.
:Actually, I try not to use it unless I have to.
