Like many liberal organizations and the entire politically correct imposition, homosexuals have developed their own homosexual language as a linguistic and rhetorical device to further the homosexual agenda. As John Honey aptly outlined in his book "Language is Power", controlling the language allows one to implicitly control the perceptions of yourself. By changing the words used to describe homosexuals, they have surreptitiously tried to soften the public's view of them and undermine their critics as insensitive, draconian, and repressive.

There are three main methods for changing the language used to refer to homosexuals:
# The appropriation of innocent words to refer "innocently" to homosexuals and homosexual acts
# The creation of negative labels and phrases to color the opinion of criticisms lodged against them
# The naming of homosexual organizations with positive-sounding names or neutral acronyms
