'''José Benito Churriguera''' (Madrid, 1665 - Madrid, 1725) was a [[Spanish]] [[architect]] and [[sculptor]]. His style of sumptuous and extravagant [[baroque]] ornamentation is called Churrigueresque. The facade of the [[:Image:Cathedral of Murcia.jpg|Cathedral of Murcia]] illustrates the full expression of this style. He had throughout the late 17th and 18th centuries, an important influence on the colonial works in the United States and Mexico.
