Randy and his wife Sally have 3 children, Amanda, Seth and Lyndi. They launched Spring Valley in January 2000. Prior to that, they served churches in Grandville and Standale, [[Michigan]].

He is a graduate of [[Hope Collage]] and [[Western Theological Seminary]] and is currently a [[Doctor of Ministry]] student at [[Trinity Evangelical Divinity School]] in [[Chicago]].
