'''The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test''', by [[Tom Wolfe]], is a non-fiction book about a group of [[hippies]] who experiment with [[LSD]] whilst driving a multicolored bus (reminiscent of the one from ''[[The Partridge Family]]'') across the United States. Eventually, they run into trouble with the law and their leader, [[Ken Kesey]] encourages them to stop using LSD. Presumably part of his motivation is to please his [[probation officer]] and the court, so that he will avoid heavy penalties for his drug offenses.

Wolfe shows the dangers of drugs and the book serves as a warning to avoid drugs.
